Writing Challenge — Day 7
Why do we do what we do?
Starting the week with one of my favorite all-time questions, to propel this to an awesome sequence of subjects throughout the days ahead. I ask this to myself a lot, more than once a day. “Why do I do what I do?”
There is no better way to write and throw a topic than in the form of a question. Especially when it’s a deep one, like this. The answer has mutated over time. I have to give you a bit of background, so you understand it better.
There was a time in my life, in my childhood, when science was a passion. All I wanted was to become a scientist or investigator, to research and make the world a better place. My goal back then was to find a cure for AIDS. Then, I transformed that into a different thing: I started to become more and more delighted about the Army life. So, my goal was to become a general so that I could have the chance to change my country from the inside. None of that happens. Because if it did, most likely I would not be here, writing this for you.
If you ask me today why I do what I do, my response is something along these lines:
To make the world a better place, one person at a time. To teach the common human to become his own superhero.
