Writing Challenge — Day 16
Patience is a superpower
Is there any other feeling so present nowadays than immediatism? It’s so superficial. “I want, right now.” Like we are entitled to anything in life. Pathetic.
Life itself is a gift. We should, first and foremost, be thankful. Thankful for breathing, walking, eating, and speaking. This basic package we have in life (that sadly, given some circumstances, there are people who do not have it) is in itself, a blessing. So, before we ask whatever it is we want, we should humble ourselves and be thankful first.
Are superpowers real?
I believe it depends on the meaning we give them. I deeply believe that if we consider our best capabilities as superpowers, we will feel inspired to perform at our best and to give others our best, as well. A superpower, as we see in movies, is normally some quality that the superhero possesses beyond human-known ability.
In our current life, we can transpose that to our best qualities. I’ll give you my example: I believe I have two great superpowers.
- Listening: Gives me the ability to learn something new with every interaction I have.
- Patience: Allows me to do what I have to do without expectation for timelines to be fulfilled.
