Chess: The best representation of life in a game

There is no other game that reflects life more than chess does. It comes from way back in India and it’s one of the oldest games, if not the oldest that still to this day, is played at the highest professional level, even though only directed for a very specific niche, because of the mental associations it has attached. The rules have changed a bit, as the pieces, from their early origins. The game format as we know it nowadays has survived for centuries now. No upgrades, and no changes (some variations of it were created, especially on computers) in regard to the rules, piece movement, winning, losing, and drawing result possibilities. Time formats are the challenge. The classical format, slow chess, has the most prestige since it is where the most brilliant masterpieces can be created. Rapid, blitz, and bullet, the quicker formats, take the mental agility of the players to the next level since they need to maintain the standard in opening theory and flow through the game at a way faster pace.

But hey, I don’t want to bother you with the rules (if you are not a player). What I do want is to show you how playing chess is a near-perfect mirror of life. And vice-versa. Hope you enjoy this analogy and I appreciate some suggestions in the replies of some other subjects to bring up as life…
