Priorities & People
Yeah, I broke the cycle this weekend after 11 days non-stop. At any other moment in my life, I would be so frustrated and criticizing myself…
Now, I am at peace to just accept it. It was not really a “fail”. It was simply a decision. To make something a priority and leave another thing behind. That’s how life works. Constantly scanning what matters the most so that, when we have tough decisions to make, we have the clarity of mind to peacefully choose the thing that is the most important for us.
I can’t say I am happy leaving this endeavor for later. I am not. I love writing here, about whatever I feel like and whatever subject comes to mind, to invite you to question yourself, deep reflections, and critical thinking. But as the most famous Portuguese poet once said in “Os Lusíadas: …Que outro valor mais alto se alevanta.” Which can be translated to: “Another higher value rises itself.”
So, what did happen? This past week, one of the most famous pilgrimages started here in my city. Involved in a big party scenario, as it has grown fond over the years. 10 days of it, from the 20th to the 30th of September. This weekend I had some friends over, to visit the city and these festivities. Spending time with them was a priority and some things had to be postponed, like this post. Which is coming…
